Jasper

I was in the D&D recently and had a quick look through Michael Smith’s Jasper line. I fell in love with this fabric… I really can’t stop thinking about where I will use it one day.

Screen Shot 2013-01-18 at 7.39.23 AMI’m really not a chintzy girl but maybe it’s growing on me? Baby steps…  I appreciate it.

It reminds me of Peter Dunham’s Fig Leaf.

Wall Papered Ceilings

I love a wall papered ceiling… it adds another interesting focal point to a room and is a place where you can have some fun.

Consider this Faux Bois paper… very chic!

Anything grasscloth is right up my alley…

Love love for a kids room.

And here are just some other fun images, enjoy!

Braquenie: Les Colonnes

How wonderful is this room? Old meets new; to me, this is perfection!!!

This is Carolina Herrera Baez’s Madrid apartment in the September issue of Elle Decor.

My favorite favorite bit is the upholstery on the daybed on the left. She used Braquenie’s (Pierre Frey) Les Colonnes. It is up there in my favorite prints.

I actually had a hard time finding past images of this but here are a few:

Look at the screen top left:

Decorator Alex Papachristidis used it on his dining chairs:

This is a room Markham Roberts did. It looks great as wallpaper too:

I think I prefer it on a larger scale piece. This way you can really see the repeat which I love!

Eyeing: Peter Dunham Samarkand

I adore Peter Dunham‘s line of fabric and wallpaper. There is no way to pick a favorite but Samarkand definitely has to be up there. I love that it has that ethnic/bohemian feel but it also looks so right in more traditional spaces.

Up in the Attic

When I lived in Florence my Junior year of college I shared a wonderful two bedroom apartment with a close friend. We had to flip a coin and change rooms halfway through our stay because the larger bedroom downstairs was more desirable. Neither of us wanted to sleep upstairs in a bedroom under the eaves. Big mistake!!! The upstairs room was way cozier and enveloped me like a cocoon. I’d take a night up there any day of the week!

You can do interesting things in a room with sloping walls.

Create a gallery of your art:

An amazing place for a kids room or playroom:

Screening room anyone?!:

Create a bunker:

Hang a hammock or just hang out:

Or my favorite, wrap it all up in wallpaper:

So clear out your attics, move that stuff down to your basements, and move on up!

Cool Floor!

How great is this splatter paint floor in Elizabeth Bauer’s new Nantucket shop: Store No. 2. I saw this on Good Bones Great Pieces and totally fell in love. Would be amazing in a play room!

At first I thought it was wallpapered because Hinson has a very similar pattern: Spatter.

It couldn’t be that hard to do??? Here’s a link on “How to Splatter Paint”:
